Leponne Inc. ("we", "us" or "our") handles personal information acquired through the website "LEPONNE" operated by us (the "Site") in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Act No. 57 of 2003) (the "Act") and other related laws and regulations, as set out below.

2. Personal Information We Acquire

- Your email address (if you register through a registration form on the Site)
- Your name, telephone number, email address and the content of your inquiry (if you use our inquiry form; name and telephone number are optional fields; the content of your inquiry includes any information you write in it)
- Your user identifier on the LINE app and your friend relationship with our official account (if you add our LINE official account as a friend)
(2) Information acquired automatically when you use the Site
- Identifiers generated by cookies and similar technologies
- Device identifiers, IP address, and browser type and settings
- Your browsing history on the Site, the date and time of browsing, and the referring page
- Whether the emails we send are opened and whether links in them are clicked
(3) Information about representatives of our business partners
- Name, company name, department, job title, email address, telephone number and other contact details (where provided to us in the course of a transaction or collaboration)
We do not acquire credit card numbers, financial account information or any other payment information through the Site. We do not acquire personal information from any third party other than the individual to whom the information relates.
3. Purposes of Use
We use the personal information we acquire for the following purposes.

- To send advance notice regarding product releases
- To deliver announcements, columns and other content from us
- To analyse whether emails are opened and links in them are clicked, in order to improve what we deliver
- To respond to inquiries and to keep a record of how we responded
- To understand how the Site is used, and to maintain and improve the Site
- To deliver advertisements and to measure their effectiveness
- To provide personal data to the businesses listed in Section 4, to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes above
- To take actions based on laws and regulations, and to carry out other operations incidental to the purposes above
(2) Personal information of representatives of our business partners
- To carry out operations relating to the transaction, including communication, meetings, and the conclusion and performance of contracts
- To create and retain records relating to the transaction
We do not use personal information beyond the scope of the purposes above, except where we have obtained your consent in advance or where permitted by laws and regulations.
4. Provision to Third Parties and Entrustment
Except in cases based on laws and regulations, we do not provide personal data to a third party without obtaining your consent in advance. However, to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use, we entrust the handling of personal data to the businesses listed below, or handle information through the services they provide.

When selecting an entrusted party, we confirm the state of its security management of personal data, and we exercise necessary and adequate supervision over that party.
In addition, the business that provides the platform for operating the Site uses information acquired through the Site, together with other information it holds, to improve products and advertising and to optimise what is displayed, in accordance with the additional service terms that business sets. In this use, no other business views your information.
We do not engage in joint use of personal data.
5. Provision to Third Parties in Foreign Countries
Of the businesses listed in the preceding Section, the following are located in, or handle personal data in, a foreign country.

Social PLUS Inc. stores and processes the personal data we provide to it solely within Japan.
We provide personal data to these businesses after confirming that they have established a system conforming to the standards prescribed by the Act. Information about the personal information protection systems of the foreign countries concerned, the measures these businesses take to protect personal information, and other information will be provided in accordance with laws and regulations upon request to the contact point set out in Section 14 of this Policy.
6. Use of Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies. The categories and purposes are as follows.

If you stop the use of cookies that are necessary for the Site to function, some features of the Site may not be available to you.
7. Stopping Email and LINE Communications
You may stop receiving emails from us at any time. To do so, use the unsubscribe link included in the body of the emails we send, or contact the contact point set out in Section 14 of this Policy.
Communications from our LINE official account stop when you block our official account in the LINE app or remove it from your friends.
Even after you have asked us to stop sending communications, we may still contact you in order to respond to an inquiry or to another request you have made.
8. Requests Regarding the Sale and Sharing of Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information to any third party for consideration.
However, under the laws of some countries or regions, the provision of information for the purpose of measuring advertising effectiveness or optimising what is displayed may be treated as a "sale" or "sharing". If you live in such a region, you may ask us to stop providing information for these purposes through the opt-out page provided on the Site. We also accept such requests through the contact point set out in Section 14 of this Policy.
9. Retention Period for Personal Data
- We retain the email address you registered until you ask us to stop sending communications, or until we determine that the purpose of use has been fulfilled.
- We erase information acquired in connection with an inquiry without delay after the purpose of use has been achieved.
- We erase information about representatives of our business partners after the transaction ends and the purpose of use has been achieved.
- Where laws and regulations require information to be retained, we retain it for the period those laws and regulations prescribe.
10. Measures for Managing the Security of Personal Data
We take the following measures to prevent the leaking, loss or damage of personal data and otherwise to manage the security of personal data.
- Formulation of a basic policy: To ensure the proper handling of personal data, we have established this Policy, which sets out our compliance with related laws and regulations and where questions and complaints may be submitted.
- Establishment of discipline for the handling of personal data: We have determined the methods of handling, and the person responsible, at each stage of the acquisition, use, storage and erasure of personal data.
- Organisational security management measures: We have appointed a personal information protection manager and have established a system under which the acquisition, use and storage of personal data can be verified. We have established a system for reporting to the person responsible when a fact concerning the handling of personal data comes to light.
- Human security management measures: We inform employees who handle personal data of the points to note in handling it, and we exercise the necessary supervision over them.
- Physical security management measures: We manage the devices used to handle personal data so as to prevent third parties from viewing personal data on them or taking them out.
- Technical security management measures: We limit access rights to the information systems that handle personal data, and we encrypt communications between the Site and your device.
- Supervision of entrusted parties: Where we entrust the handling of personal data, we do so only after confirming the state of security management at the entrusted party, and we exercise necessary and adequate supervision over it.
- Understanding of the external environment: We handle personal data in the United States of America, the Republic of Singapore and the Republic of Korea. We have ascertained the personal information protection systems of these countries and take the measures necessary and appropriate for security management.
Of the measures above, we have refrained from describing matters where making their specific content public could impede the security management of personal data. We will answer questions about those matters, to the extent that doing so causes no such impediment, upon request to the contact point set out in Section 14 of this Policy.
11. Personal Information of Minors
The Site is not intended for persons under the age of 16. We do not intentionally acquire personal information from persons under the age of 16.
If you are under the age of 16, please obtain the consent of a person with parental authority or another legal representative before providing personal information. If we find that we have acquired personal information from a person under the age of 16 without the consent of their legal representative, we will erase that personal information without delay.
12. Links to External Websites
The Site contains links to websites operated by businesses other than us. We are not responsible for how personal information is handled on those linked websites. Please review the policies of each website regarding its handling of personal information.
13. Requests for Disclosure and Other Requests
You may request that we notify you of the purpose of use of, disclose, correct, add to or delete the content of, cease to use, erase, or cease to provide to a third party, the personal data we hold about you.
- How to submit a request: Please submit your request by email or by post to the contact point set out in Section 14 of this Policy.
- Verifying your identity: To confirm that the request comes from you, we may ask you to contact us from the email address registered with us, or to submit a copy of an identification document issued by a public authority.
- Requests by an agent: If a legal representative or an agent appointed by you submits the request, please submit a copy of a document evidencing the authority of representation and a copy of a document identifying the agent.
- Fees: We do not charge any fee for requests for disclosure and other requests.
Under laws and regulations, there may be cases in which we cannot grant all or part of a request. In such a case, we will notify you and give our reasons.

16. Changes to This Policy
We may change this Policy in response to amendments to laws and regulations or changes in our business. The changed Policy takes effect from the time it is posted on the Site. Where we make a material change, we will announce it on the Site.
